Obituary of Jim Doyle
Obituary for James (Jim) Bernard Doyle
Jim Doyle died Monday, March 31, 2025, at his home in Burnsville Minnesota. He was 92 years old.
He was born on January 6, 1933, in Oak Park Illinois to Bernard Francis and Laura Belle (Stack) Doyle.
In 1951, Jim graduated from New Richmond High School in Wisconsin, then went on to study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration in 1956. While in college, he joined the ROTC and upon graduation, served with the US Army Signal Corps for two years. He was honorably discharged with the rank of 1st Lieutenant.
In September 1952, Jim and Marjorie Ward were married. They had three children: David James in 1954, Jay Bradley in 1958 and Renee Kathleen in 1960.
Jim became a CPA in January 1960 and began his accounting career with Peat Marwick Mitchell. He then moved to private industry where he worked for more than 20 years in increasingly responsible positions. He was CFO of Fabri-Tek, Inc. and spent 2 ½ of his years there as Managing Director of their Far East operations. He held the positions of CFO of Country Kitchen, International and Starkey Laboratories, Inc. During this time, he also studied law at William Mitchell College of Law.
In 1986, Jim opened his own accounting firm and continued to work in the tax, accounting, real estate and insurance fields for another 25 years.
In 1981, Jim married Judith Lind of Viroqua, Wisconsin. They happily raised fur and feather babies in the Burnsville area and often worked together in Jim's business.
Jim gave back by instructing at The Academy College and at the Minneapolis Business College. He was an excellent speaker and very much enjoyed his association with Toastmasters International.
Jim is survived by his wife, Judith, and his daughter, Renee, his grandsons: Paul, Michael and Brandon, his daughter-in-law, Vera, and one remaining furbaby, MewMew Elizabeth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dolores, and by his sons.
Jim Doyle was a kind, generous and well-liked man who particularly enjoyed exploring new ideas, caring for those around him - human and non-human alike - and who found contentment in his circumstances regardless of the situation.
Judith wishes to express her deeply felt thank you to all the friends and family that have been so incredibly supportive through Jim's illness and death, the Allina Hospice team who made certain that Jim's last days were comfortable and peaceful and to the VA personnel who were so kind.
At Jim's request, there will be no formal memorial service.
