Jim Quick, 79, of Milo, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the Westview Care Center of Indianola. A private family celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to one of Jim's true passions, the Milo 4th of July, and mailed in care of Damon Quick PO Box 5 Lacona, IA 50139.
Born March 6, 1946, to Harold and Florence Quick, Jim grew up in Des Moines and graduated from Johnston High School in 1964. He served in the US Air Force during Vietnam. On August 16, 1968, Jim married Donna Gerstner, and they were blessed with three boys: Damon, Jason, and Daron. He worked for the Warren County Road Department for over 20 years as the Bridge Foreman, retiring after a dedicated career.
Jim loved the outdoors, often fishing and hunting. He coached Little League while his boys played baseball and cherished family gatherings, grilling, and smoking meat. In later years, he enjoyed camping with his partner of many years, Joyce Moses.
Jim also loved competition, particularly beating his grandkids at a game of cribbage. He will be deeply missed by his children: Damon, Jason, and Daron; six grandchildren: Zach, Allisa, Joe, Caden, Zach, and Chelsea; many great-grandchildren; his significant other, Joyce Moses; and numerous relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife, Donna; parents, Harold and Florence Quick; and daughter-in-law, Julie Quick. To send flowers to the family of Jim, please visit our floral store.
