Eugene A. Wilber, 87, of Templeton, died peacefully Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in his home surrounded by his family after a short illness.

Born in Gardner on December 26, 1937, he was the son of the late Clifford E. and Louise A. (Pierce) Wilber. He received his GED through Mount Wachusett Community College. Eugene proudly served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard from 1960 to 1966. He was a foreman in the drilling department at Union Twist & Drill of Athol for 28 years until his retirement in 2000.

Eugene was a member of Bethany Baptist Church of Gardner, where he served as an usher for 40 years and on its Board of Trustees for over 30 years, serving as the chairperson for several years. He enjoyed traveling, working outdoors in his garden, and enjoying nature, especially in Maine. Eugene’s greatest joy was his family, treasuring all the memories made throughout the years.

Eugene is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda L. (Kulysh) Wilber of Templeton; sister-in-law, Marilyn (Nutt) Wilber of Winchendon; and several nieces, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his two brothers, Clyde Wilber, and Carl F. Wilber Sr. and his wife Patricia (LaFosse) Wilber; and a nephew, Carl F. Wilber Jr.

Calling Hours will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Bethany Baptist Church, 72 Ryan Street, Gardner, MA. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Burial will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, Bridge Street, Baldwinville, MA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Baptist Church, 72 Ryan Street, Gardner, MA 01440. Please reference in memory of Eugene A. Wilber.
