On May 28, 2024, Jimmie Lee Darnell, more affectionately known as Jim, passed away. Born on August 5, 1936, in Murray, KY, Jimmie was a loyal and dependable soul who made an indelible mark in the lives of all he encountered. His captivating spirit and life will be celebrated and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jimmie's reliability and expertise were evident in his long-standing career as a mechanic. He spent 30 years of his life working diligently at Ford Motor Company, where he was renowned for his ability to fix anything. His mechanical prowess was not just limited to cars; he was a problem-solver in all aspects of life, always willing and ready to lend a helping hand. Beyond his career, Jimmie served in the United States Army, exemplifying his loyalty and commitment to his country. Despite his busy professional life, Jimmie always found time to indulge in his passions. In his younger years, he relished deer hunting, and as he matured, he enjoyed the simple pleasure of loafing at the Sylvia Market with friends. He shared many memorable rides with his friend Jeff, and post-retirement, he found joy in raising cattle and farming at his residence in Vanleer, Tennessee.
