Jimmy Sanders Obituary

Mr. Jimmy Marlin Sanders, 68, long-time resident of Henderson, passed from this life on July 14, 2025, in Longview. He was born May 16, 1957, in Rusk, however, he was raised and lived most of his life in Henderson and Rusk County before spending the last several years close to Longview. Jimmy was a painter by trade and dedicated his working life to helping people create a home whether it be for their family or business. The main passion of his life was music. Jimmy was very talented and could sing and play any instrument that he picked up from guitar to piano, saxophone, and even the piccolo. He was also a member of a gospel group that played at Highway 80 Rescue Mission once a month. One of his other hobbies was acquiring different collectibles. He had quite the baseball collection but also collected antiques, guns, and motorcycles. Mr. Sanders was a man of faith and had previously attended Living Word Church where he was a member of the praise team.
He was preceded in death by his father James "Harpo" Sanders and wife Carolyn, mother Linda Scarborough and husband Floyd, nieces Kathy Tomlin and Brittney Howard, and his brother-in-law Danny Rhodes.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, DeeDee Sanders of Longview; children, Marlon Sanders and wife Brandi of White Oak, Kaleena Beene and husband Matt of Gladewater, Amanda Morrow and husband Damon of Longview, and Nick Sanders of Gladewater; brothers and sister, James Lee Hays of Garland, Sherry Sanders of Henderson, and Bubba Sanders and wife Rhonda of Henderson; grandchildren, Dakota Aarant, Bridgette March and husband Cody, Kadynce Taylor, Kynleigh Snyder, Braxton Sanders, and Lexi Peery; great-grandchildren, Adelyn "Addy" March and Dutton Aarant; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Sanders will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 19, 2025, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Riley Laningham and Kenneth Orr officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
