Jo Etta "Jody" Baugess, 67 of New Concord, passed away peacefully at Genesis Hospital on Thursday, August 7, 2025, with her loving family by her side.

Jody was born on December 21, 1957, in Zanesville. She is the daughter of the late William and Dolores Jean (Smith) Pyle. Jody devoted her life to caring for her loved ones, always putting her family first. She found joy in caring for her animals, cooking, tending to her flower garden, being outside, and sharing meaningful time with family and friends. A generous and empathetic person, Jody loved to care for her grandchildren and be present in their lives.

Jody is survived by her daughter and son, Jennifer (Derek) Fliger and Clinton Baugess; her grandchildren, Kade Fliger and Aria Fliger; the father of her children, Kenneth Baugess; her siblings, William "Rick" (Judy) Pyle and Jeanne (Kenny) Dudley; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

In keeping with Jody's wishes, a caring cremation will take place and a Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date in the fall. The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is caring for the Baugess family.
