Jo Wanah Miller, 84, of the Poplar Springs Community, Graceville, Florida passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
Jo Wanah was born in Holmes County, Florida on August 29, 1940, to the late William Gaston and Ressie Lee Austin. She graduated from Bethlehem High School in 1958 and then attended Riley Business College in Dothan, Al. Soon after, she entered the workforce as a bank teller. On January 13, 1962, she married the love of her life, Adron, and moved to Ft. Walton Beach Florida to begin a new chapter as a military wife and homemaker. In 1974, Adron, Jo and children returned to Holmes County and settled in the Poplar Springs Community where she made every step with Adron, farming, growing chickens, and spending time with grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Adron Miller, parents William G and Ressie Lee Austin, one brother-in-law Dr. Samuel Miller, and nephew Robert Miller.
She is survived by one son Kevin Miller (Michelle), two daughters Jana Trim (Robert), Sherrie Perry (Matt), grandchildren Casey Miller (Beth), Leslie McKee (Cory), Jessica Carter (Jesse), Jenna Rich (Bailey), Kade Singletary, Aubrey Perry, Raeleigh Perry; brother Kenney Austin (Shelia), sisters-in-law Marica Williams (Wayne) and Jackie Miller, and many great grands, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. CDT, Friday, June 27, 2025, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 until service time, at the church.
