Joan Faith Brack, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went home to be with her Savior on July 2nd, after a courageous battle with ALS. She was surrounded by family and blanketed in love and prayer as she stepped into eternity.
Born on November 27, 1951, to Ben and Sally Talbot of Lake Charles, LA, she lived a life marked by grace, humility, and unwavering faith. As the devoted wife of a pastor, she spent her life serving others, offering hospitality, wisdom, and a kind word to everyone she met. Whether she was quilting, serving others, or simply listening, she made everyone feel seen and loved. Her strength and joy never faltered, even as her body weakened. Through her illness, she remained faithful, always pointing others to Jesus with her words and her life.
Joan lived out her favorite passage of Scripture, Colossians 3:12-14: "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." These words defined her life. Her legacy is one of faith, service, and quiet strength.
Joan was the devoted wife of Gene for 53 years. She was the loving mother of five children: Laura Shiltz (Justin), Stephen Brack (Sherri), Charles Brack (Mary), Michael Brack (Jodie), and PJ Brack (Brittney). She was a treasured grandmother to seventeen grandchildren and a beloved sister to Ernistine Booth, Benji Talbot, David Talbot, Mark Talbot, and Michael Talbot. She will be deeply missed, but we rejoice knowing she is now whole, standing in the presence of our Savior, singing and rejoicing forevermore. A visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. with a celebration of her life will be held 11:00 a.m Wednesday, July 9th, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, 100 S 28th Street, Rogers, AR 72758.
The family is forever grateful to the Circle of Life of Northwest Arkansas, a hospice non-profit service, which graciously and faithfully served Joan and our family during the final stages of her journey. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Circle of Life of Northwest Arkansas (https://nwacircleoflife.com/donatesupport/#donatenow) to help them continue serving others.
