Joan "Carol" Hicks, 80, of Clintonville passed away on Tuesday night, July 8, 2025 at CAMC, Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
She was born on April 3, 1945; she was the daughter of the late Hubert Martin Brooks, Sr. and Ida Marie Hendrix.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roy G. Hicks and a sister, Lillian (Fred) Bivens and Wilda (Ron) Eddy.
Carol loved to work jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed playing games on her tablet. She enjoyed being with her family and fur babies. She will be missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Roy Allen Hicks and wife, Becky of Clintonville; two grandsons, Ryan Hicks and Robert Hicks; two step grandchildren, Robert Warden and Briana (Caleb) Harding; brother, Hubie (Brenda) Brooks; special friends who were like family, Richard and Mary Grist, Russell and Sandy Hodges; several nieces and nephews and all of her fur babies.
Service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle with Pastor Chad Rodes officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 1:00 until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the funeral home to defray the cost.
