Starkey, Ruby Delores, age 92 passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 14, 2025. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Nashville. She retired from Waves Inc., where she worked with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a job she truly loved.
She is preceeded in death by her husband, John W. Starkey, Sr and grandson, K J Starkey. She is survived by her 4 children, John W. (Jan) Starkey, Jr., Vicki Starkey (Rick) Tyler, Kenny E. Starkey and Steven W. (Sandi) Starkey; 10 grandchildren, Stacey (Barry) Mullens, Ryan (Liz) Starkey, Jeremy (Kim) Tyler, Justin Tyler, Jerin Tyler, Timothy Blanco, Shannon Blanco, Lindsey (Brett) Brundirks, Ashley (Scott) Hutchinson and Matthew Starkey; 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Ivey, Loretta Taylor, Judy Strayn, Ellean Rodgers and Mary Palmore; brothers, Jackie Palmore and Dennis Palmore.
Funeral Services will be Friday, September 19, 2025, at 11:30am with Rev. Ron Becton and Rev. Roy Duke officiating at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00pm and Friday from 10:30 to 11:30am. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
