Joan Adale Lawson, age 77, passed away on October 14, 2025. She was a faithful member of Crossroads Free Pentecostal Church, where she served as Missionettes leader and Sunday school teacher.
Joan earned her cosmetology license and worked as a cosmetologist for many years. She also enjoyed her time as a bus driver and was well known for her talent in baking. For years, she made beautiful specialty cakes for her family, a reflection of the love and care she poured into everything she did.
She was the matriarch of her family and deeply devoted to caring for them. Joan was a loving wife, mother, Mawmaw, great-Mawmaw, sister, and caretaker who will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Louis and Edna Smith Crawford; siblings, Jim Crawford, Sherry Randall, and Diane Boyd.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 57 years, James Dale "Jimmy" Lawson; son, James Dale "Jimmy" (Alisha) Lawson, Jr.; grandchildren, Tracy (Haley) Lawson, Courtney (Easton) Davis, Tori (Jade) Cauley, Brendan (Alyse) Dubose, Blayden (Sabrina) Dubose, and Paisley Fisher; great grandchildren, Halyn Robertson, River Robertson, Salem Lawson, Harlan Lawson, Kaden Cauley, Kylie Cauley, Raleigh Davis, Avery Dubose, and Izzy Stanford; great niece, Zariah Tompkins; siblings, Robert "Fuzzy" (Karen) Crawford, and Mary "Rainey" (Henry) Holliday; special friends, Judy Parks, Linda Nixon, and Elise Robertson; numerous other relatives and friends.
The Visitation will be Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Warren Slay and Bro. Harry Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Crossroads Free Pentecostal Church cemetery. Pallbearers include Jimmy Lawson, Jr., Tracy Lawson, Dusty Keel, Dakota Parnell, Aren Parnell, and Blayden Dubose. Honorary Pallbearers include Easton Davis, Brendan Dubose, and Jade Cauley.
