Joann Beverage, 90, passed away on July 24, 2025. Born on June 3, 1935, Joann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her life was rooted in her faith and deep love for her family.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Beverage Sr., her daughter, Rebecca Brooks, and her mother, Opal Shields.
Joann is survived by her children: Anna and James McChesney, Carol and Paul Everitt, Howard Beverage Jr, and daughter's husband John Brooks. She was a proud and loving grandmother to 8 grandchildren: Brandi Pulley, Patrick Scott, Derek Tanner, Dalton Beverage, Austin Beverage, Alisha Colvin, Devin Brooks, and Chelsey Brooks. She was just as proud of her great-grandchildren: Bryce and Blake Pulley, Annalise and Brinley Scott, Jamison Tanner, Elijah Beverage, Trenton and Caylee Morris, Avery Paggett and Makayla and McKenzie Kiser; who brought her endless joy and were shaped by her gentle wisdom, unconditional love, and steady presence.
Joann was known for her quiet strength, gracious spirit and deep devotion to her family. A woman of strong Christian faith, she lived her life with humility, kindness and a heart for giving. Her legacy of love and faith will live on in all the lives she was able to touch.
A graveside service will be held at Augusta Memorial Park on July 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., where friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Shenandoah, 64 Sports Medicine Dr, Fishersville, VA 22939, in Joann's memory.
