JoAnn Romano passed away peacefully at her home in Tooele, Utah, surrounded by family on July 4, 2025. JoAnn was born September 14, 1936, to Esther and Tony Renzo in Salt Lake City, Utah. She grew up in Salt Lake City and attended West High School. In 1954, she married the love of her life, Paul Romano in Tooele, Utah.
JoAnn was an avid traveler, visiting Europe, Mexico, and other countries as well as many places in the United States. She also enjoyed her trips to Wendover. She was a wonderful cook and loved preparing a variety of her excellent Italian recipes for her family and friends. She was very kindhearted, always remembering birthdays, anniversaries, and sending notes and food to friends and family. Above all, she cherished her loving husband, Paul, and her children and grandchildren.
JoAnn is survived by her children Michael (Brenda) Romano, Carmen Romano, Jerry (Julie) Romano, Nancy (Abel) Romero, and Anna (Kenneth) Taylor, and her brother Gerald Renzo. She has 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, her parents, and her siblings Jerry Renzo and David Renzo. We find peace and comfort knowing she will always be with us in spirit and that she has been reunited with her loved ones.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12 at Saint Marguerite Catholic Church, 15 South 7th Street, Tooele, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:00-9:30 a.m. The Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will immediately follow at Tooele City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Tate Mortuary, Tooele, Utah.
The family wishes to thank Harmony Home Health and Hospice and Mountain West Medical Center in Tooele, Utah.
