JoAnn Stewart Obituary

JoAnn Robinson Stewart, 91, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, at her home in Munfordville, KY. Her devoted family had surrounded her with loving care for many weeks.
JoAnn was born on October 14, 1933, in Sonora, KY, to Herman and Ruth Robinson, who preceded her in death. She was a long-time member of Sonora United Methodist Church.
After graduating from Sonora High School, JoAnn's first job was at Fort Knox in the G4 Third Armored Division. She and her husband resided in Louisville for many years, before moving to Munfordville in 1991.
Her most cherished role was that of homemaker, providing her the opportunity to care for her extended family. She was one of the kindest, sweetest, gentlest souls and blessed their lives in so many ways. JoAnn had a way of making each family member or friend feel loved and ensured every celebration and occasion was special.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jim, Herbert, and Hubert; sisters, Doris, Betty, and Francis; and grandson, Zachary.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, John David Stewart; sons, Christopher (Linda); Mark (Emma); and Stephen (Tanya); brothers, Michael (Sharon) and Bill (Virginia); seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many beloved nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
The family extends gratitude and appreciation to Hosparus Care of Bowling Green and to special neighbors, Cristine and Joanne, who helped care for JoAnn in her final days.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday July 2, 2025 1:00 pm at Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora, KY with Rev. Paul Frederick officiating. Burial will be held at the Campground Methodist Church Cemetery in Bonnieville, KY.
Visitation will be Wednesday 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora.
