JOANNE MARIE O’DELL
Joanne M. O’Dell, 85, of Cass City, formerly of Caseville, died peacefully Saturday, June 28, 2025 with her daughters by her side. She was born October 27, 1939 in Lincoln Park to Clarence and Eleanor (Binder) Miller. She married her childhood sweetheart, Charles Clayton O’Dell on November 8, 1957 in Sutton Sunshine Methodist Church. He died October 22, 2018.
Joanne graduated from Cass City High School in 1957. She worked as a receptionist at Walbro for thirty years. Joanne was a gifted artist and created numerous paintings. She knitted many baby hats and washcloths for her family. Joanne was also a talented soprano, singing in the church choir and for several weddings. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Joanne loved to ride her Harley-Davidson Trike motorcycle, going on trips with Charles. Joanne enjoyed gardening, especially maintaining the flowers around her home. She was a phenomenal cook and popcorn was her favorite snack. A dog lover, Joanne always had a dog or two by her side.
Joanne is survived by her children: Kimberly (Greg) Frank of Cass City; Ronald (Donna) O’Dell of Monroe; Robert (Shari) O’Dell of Cass City; Kristine (Anthony) Adams of Cass City; grandchildren: Nathan (Sara) Hendrick, Elissa Hendrick, Megen (Bradley) Kloska, Mitchel (Rebekah) O’Dell, Michael Adams, Alexander (Sarah) Adams, Grant (Sally) Frank, Cassidy (Jeremy) Verran; fourteen great grandchildren; brother, Gary (Mary) Miller of Grand Rapids; sisters-in-law: EllaJane O’Dell of Caro; Janice Winter of Cass City; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, grandson, David O’Dell; brothers-in-law: Carson O’Dell, Marvin Winter.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2025 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cass City with Rev. Steve Bagnall officiating. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Visitation: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City
10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2025 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cass City
