John Bailey Obituary

On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, John "Money" Bailey entered into eternal rest. He was born on December 18, 1959, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a lifelong citizen of Barataria, LA and spent his life on the water working in the "Trawling Industry. John was the son of the late Antonine Jr. and Marie Bailey. John leaves to cherish his memory, two loving daughters, Monique Bailey and Ashley Sylve. six brothers; Antoine, his twin Jacob, Carl, Thaddeus Bailey, Darren and Rodney Petty, the late Leo Bailey; three sisters Vanessa Bailey Page, Leotha Bailey, and Darrilyn Johnson, the late Andrea Rising; one Uncle George Bailey, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family, friends, pastors and officers of Greater St. John Baptist Church, Ochsner Medical Center, Wynhoven Senior Living, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service celebrating the life of John Bailey on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 10:00AM at Greater St. John Baptist Church 2823-A Privateer Blvd, Barataria, LA 70036, Rev. Dr. Harold E. Clark Sr. officiating. The Visitation will begin at 9:00AM. The Interment will follow at Bailey Cemetery in Barataria, LA. Professional Arrangements are entrusted to Jones Memorial Funeral Home.
