John Robert Bolander, of Cuba, AL, passed away at his home during the early morning hours of Friday, July 4, 2025, at the age of 83, surrounded by his loved ones.

John was born on January 6, 1942, in Memphis, TN. He developed a love for cars and racing at an early age, winning several trophies racing his Lotus. He was known as a “jack of all trades”, and loved sharing his knowledge of vehicles and life, especially with his children. John was also proud to have worked for the California Department of Forestry for many years before his retirement. John was a deeply loving and devoted husband and father. With his smart and caring nature, he loved helping anyone in need and always seemed to have an answer for everything. His loving and “larger than life” presence will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

John was preceded in death by his parents, and his cousin, Nancy Hartell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, JoAnn Reinholz Bolander; his sons, Scott Bolander and Greg Morris; his daughters, Christie Harmon and Debbie Leopold (Terry); his brother, Tom Bolander; brother- and sister-in-law, Jack and Henrietta Reinholz; his grandchildren, Tyler Harmon, Chase Leopold, Hayden Morris, Brandon Morris, and Felecia Leopold; his great-grands, Elijah Harmon, Ethan Harmon, Eleanor Harmon, and Emelia Harmon; along with many friends and extended family members.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service on September 6, 2025, at The Cuba Baptist Church, beginning at 10:00 am.

John’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of Southern Care Hospice for their loving and devoted care shown to John during his time with them.

The staff of Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North is grateful for the opportunity to honor John’s life and memory and to serve his loving family during this time.
