John Dewayne "ZZ" Dailey, a cherished soul and a pillar of his community, was called to his heavenly home on June 16, 2025. Born on December 6, 1945, in Reno, Georgia, he was a man of strong faith and character, whose life was a living testament to the values he held dear.
John's early years in Reno laid the foundation for a life rich with love for the outdoors and dedication to his family. His journey led him to Grand Ridge, Florida, where he would settle and spend the majority of his fruitful life. The values of hard work and service, instilled in him by his late parents, John Dailey and Hilda Dailey, blossomed throughout his life as he navigated the joys and challenges of fatherhood, spirituality, and community involvement.
He was a devout member of the Grand Ridge Methodist Church, where his Christian faith was both a personal comfort and an inspiration to others. John's love for God's creation was evident in the way he nurtured the earth, whether he was casting a line into a still lake at dawn, tracking wildlife through the quiet woods, or tending to his bountiful vegetable garden. His was a life of simple pleasures and acts of kindness, like raising chickens and generously sharing the eggs and vegetables with his neighbors.
Left to honor his memory are his son, John Daniel Dailey, and his wife Manya, his daughter, Deanna "Dee" Dailey and her spouse Randy. His legacy lives on in his four beloved grandchildren, Johnathan, Christopher, Joshua, and Danielle, and his nine treasured great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life.
John will be remembered as a man who lived by the principles of love, faith, and generosity. He sowed seeds of kindness wherever he went, and in turn, reaped a life overflowing with blessings and the respect of all who knew him. His presence on this earth will be dearly missed, but the love and lessons he imparted will resonate for generations to come. As we say farewell to John Dewayne Dailey, we take solace in the assurance that his spirit has found eternal peace and rest with our Lord and Savior.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025 beginning at 5:00 PM Central Time. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 4:00 PM Cenral Time.
