Obituary of John B. Glodzik

John B. Glodzik, a devoted father, husband, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Morristown Medical Center at the age of 70. His life was a testament to hard work, loyalty, and love - values he embodied in every role he held and every life he touched.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, on June 1, 1955, to the late Bernard and Isabelle Glodzik, John was raised with a strong sense of responsibility and an appreciation for the simple joys of life. He carried those lessons with him throughout his years, building a life rooted in dedication, family, and integrity.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Filomena Glodzik; his two cherished daughters, Maria and Kaitlyn Glodzik, who were the pride and joy of his life; his sisters, Patricia Edgcomb and Karen Barone; his loyal companion and beloved family dog, Hunter; as well as several adored nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends and neighbors.

A proud small business owner, John founded and operated John Glodzik Carpet Installation Services, where he built a stellar reputation through his skill, work ethic, and honesty. Clients quickly became friends, drawn to his personable nature and meticulous attention to detail. He was a man who believed in doing things the right way - not just the easy way - and his work spoke volumes about his character.

Beyond his professional achievements, John was the ultimate handyman - always willing to lend a hand or take on a new home improvement project, especially when it meant spending time with his daughters. He believed in teaching by doing, and his guidance, patience, and sense of humor turned ordinary tasks into treasured memories.

John had a deep love for animals and cared for his backyard chicken coop with the same tenderness he gave his family. He delighted in gathering fresh eggs each morning, often sharing them - along with his garden's harvest - with friends, neighbors, and anyone in need. His gardens bloomed with life and color, and the fruit trees he tended stood as living symbols of his steady, nurturing presence.

A man of many talents, John was also a trained gunsmith, having attended school in his youth to master the craft. He was passionate about the outdoors - whether hunting, fishing, or simply sitting outside enjoying the fresh air. He found great joy in smoking meats, and his culinary creations became a staple at family gatherings and backyard get-togethers.

His witty sense of humor, quiet wisdom, and generosity will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Though John's time on earth feels far too short, his spirit lives on in the stories we share, the lessons he taught, and the love he leaves behind. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a life well-lived - one built on compassion, purpose, and the unshakable strength of family.

John Glodzik will be remembered always as a good man, a selfless helper, and a loving soul whose impact will echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved him
