In Loving Memory of John Gregor Jr.
January 10, 1947 – May 26, 2025

With deep sorrow and profound respect, the family of John Gregor Jr., aged 78, announces his passing on May 26, 2025, in Prineville, Oregon.

Born in Osage, West Virginia, to John and Marge Gregor (née Gibson), John lived a life marked by strength, humility, and unwavering dedication. A proud Marine and Oregon Army National Guardsman, John served his country for an incredible 32 years-including two tours in Vietnam-retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant. His integrity and patriotism were matched only by the generosity and kindness he extended to everyone who knew him.

John's work ethic was legendary. He dedicated 18 years each as a forklift mechanic to both Consolidated Pine and Brightwood Corporation, earning the respect of colleagues through his skill and loyalty. A true craftsman, he held welding and mechanic certifications and was never afraid to roll up his sleeves and get the job done.

Married to the love of his life, Jackie Gregor, since May 27, 1972, in Larlock, Nevada, John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was his pride and joy. He delighted in beautifying his yard, fixing vehicles, cooking up something hearty, and embarking on outdoor adventures-from camping and hunting to reeling in a good catch. He even harvested a record bull elk, a testament to his lifelong connection to nature and determination.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Jackie; his children Justin, Joseph, Jacob, and Gerri; his grandchildren Johnathen, Payton, Karin, Katie, James, Rylee, Chloe, Evan, Zachary, Crystal, Samantha, and Elizabeth; and his great-grandchildren Forest, Dakota, Maya, Zoey, Karley, Carter, Teddy, Harley, and Fenix. His legacy lives on in each of them, in every shared story, every laugh, and every lesson passed down.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marge; brothers Duke and Robert; and sisters Luella and Pauline.

A public memorial service will be held in honor of John's extraordinary life and character. He was more than just a husband, father, soldier, and mechanic-he was a mentor, a friend, and a hero in quiet ways that touched many.
