John L. Hancock Sr., 81, passed away on June 7, 2025. He was born on August 11, 1943.
John loved fishing, OSU football games, and Indiana basketball games. John loved to tell stories and never met a stranger. He was an easy going man and loved the time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, parents, Russell and Mattie Hancock, siblings, Herman Hancock, Madeline Truax, Hilda Tharpe, William Hancock.
Surviving family includes children, John Jr. (Brenda) Hancock, James Hancock, Marcia (Vernon) Marcum, grandchildren, Heather, Katie, Christina, John Allen, Faith, Anthony Clark, Jacob, Cody, 9 great-grandchildren, sister, Marlene Glidden.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7pm, Monday, June 16, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH, where a memorial service will begin at 7pm.
