John Jetelina Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

John Math Jetelina, 75, went to be with his Lord July 12, 2025. In the final months of his life, John faced Parkinson's and related cognitive challenges with strength and courage. Though his body ultimately gave out, his faith never did. He is now whole and at peace in the presence of Jesus.
John was born April 18, 1950 in Wharton, Texas to Antonia and John Jetelina. He married the love of his life, Judy, June 24, 1989, and they shared 36 wonderful years together. For more than three decades, John and Judy made their home in Bergheim, Texas, near Boerne, before retiring to Harper in 2022. John was a long-time and active member of First Baptist Church Fair Oaks Ranch and later First Baptist Church of Harper. He generously gave his time in service and was a dedicated volunteer in each of the church communities he belonged to.
John joined the U.S. Army in 1969, where he trained and served as an Air Traffic Controller at Fort Hood. He continued his service in the Army Reserves until 1975. In 1974, John graduated with the A Class of the Texas Department of Public Service Academy and served as a State Trooper in the Matagorda and Harris County areas until 1979. He then transitioned to the private sector, holding leadership roles like Safety Director for Quality Service Tank Lines and co-owner of Waste Technologies, Inc. In 2008, John founded All American Screen LLC, serving the Boerne and Hill Country areas by crafting window screens, screened porches, and gazebos. He retired in 2023 to the land he and Judy had dreamed of in Harper, Texas.
John was a proud and active member of the American Legion posts in both Boerne and Harper. He loved being outdoors-especially hunting, feeding the deer and birds, and working with his hands. He also enjoyed traveling and had deep affection toward his dogs, who were always at his side.
John was preceded in death by his parents. John is survived by his beloved wife Judy of Harper, Texas; his children Krystal Lynn and husband Rick Tolson of Pennsylvania, Amanda K. Ozuna and husband Andy of Spring Branch, Texas, and Serena Jetelina of Boulder, Colorado; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; his brother Henry of Magnet, TX, his brother James of Lane City, TX, and his sister Delores of Waco, TX; and former spouses and longtime friends Sandy Wilson-Broyles and husband Mike of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Sharon Lang and husband DeWitt of Goodyear, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to Gideon's International, Samaritan's Purse (supporting flood relief in Kerrville, Texas), or the American Legion.
