John served twenty-four years in the Army. He did two tours of duty in Korea and Vietnam. He loved to travel and moved the family every year. He enjoyed the people he worked with.
He is preceded in death by his wife Bettie Johnson, son Michael Johnson, brothers Jim Johnson and Russell, sister Louise Cordes.
He is survived by his daughters Phyllis Salge (Mike), Peggy Pike (George), and son Mickey Johnson (Patty), four grandchildren Shannon Willy of Pflugerville, Susan Darling of Colorado Springs, CO, Jamie Darling of Houston, and Brandon Johnson Kernersville, NC, and eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM 07/18/2024, at Davis Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM at Heritage Funeral Home - Davis Morris. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Early.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home - Davis Morris of Brownwood.
