Mr. John Richard "Dickie" Kirtley, Jr. of Campbellsville passed from this life on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at the University of Kentucky Hospital. He was born in Taylor County on November 7, 1950 to the late John Richard "J.R." and Corine Gay (Clark) Kirtley, and was 74 years of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a deacon at Green River Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Kirtley was a retired employee of Parker Kalon and was a farmer. He especially enjoyed driving his antique John Deere tractors and studying genealogy, but his true passion was his family. He was an exceptional "Pa", and loved taking care of "his girls", ranging from his cherished wife Mary Lynn to his granddaughters, and was always proud of his grandson, Dylan. He was a devoted servant of Christ's and served His church as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher, even leading the RA Youth Group at times and recently overseeing the church cemetery.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

His wife, Mary Lynn (Rucker) Kirtley,

His daughter: Kathy Arnold and husband Larry of Campbellsville,

Four siblings: Vickie Brockman of Lebanon, and Charlotte Clark and husband Danny, Sherry Cambron, and Donna Kirtley, all of Campbellsville,

Three grandchildren: Katelyn Arnold and significant other Ben Siems of Pocatello, ID, Dylan Arnold of Washington, D.C., and Sharon Kirtley of Casey County,

And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

He also loved his fur babies: Bella, Ace, and Molly; and his cat, Patches.

Mr. Kirtley was preceded in death by a son, Charles David "Cookie" Kirtley, and a brother, David Allen Kirtley.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. John Richard "Dickie" Kirtley on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Ray Judd and Bro. Jerry Smith will officiate.
