John F. Lanczak
Linwood, Michigan
John Frank Lanczak, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence on November 26, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on April 16, 1941, in Mt. Forest Township, Michigan, John was the loving son of the late John and Francis (Galloner) Lanczak. He was predeceased by his first wife Dianne LaLonde in 1996. His life was a testament to the values of hard work, family, and community. John left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy, whom he married at St. Mary's Catholic Church Nine Mile on August 2, 2014. His legacy continues through his children, Chris (Shirley) Lanczak, Vern (Tina) Lanczak, Marie (Mike) Breslin, Jennifer Wright, and Jaime (Justin) Armstrong, grandchildren; Nickole (Anthony) Aguilar, Rachel Lanczak, Haley Lanczak, Abigail Lanczak, Cavan Breslin, Joshua Breslin, Rodney Bedell, Lainie and Harlie Armstrong and several great grandchildren who will carry forward the kindness and generosity he instilled in them. He was predeceased by a brother Michael Lanczak and a sister Marge Sherman John dedicated 34 years of service to General Motors as a Machine Repair operator. His commitment to excellence and teamwork were hallmarks of his career and earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
John's life was rich with involvement in his community. He was a Lifetime member of St. Mary's Nine Mile Church, the Pinconning Conservation Club, the Crump Fox Club, and the Bay County Gun Club. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for hunting and fishing. John had an innate ability to appreciate the simple pleasures of life, whether it was observing the growth of crops, watching for ducks and geese, or simply enjoying a ride through the woods. He was a man who never hesitated to extend a helping hand to those in need, embodying the spirit of selflessness. John's storytelling was legendary; he had a unique way of keeping listeners engaged and on their toes. His sense of humor and friendly demeanor were magnetic, drawing people to him and making them feel instantly at home. Above all, John's greatest joy was his family, particularly his grandchildren, who were the highlight of his life. His presence at family gatherings and his role as a storyteller and mentor will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 11 am from the Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ron Wagner presiding with burial in St. Mary's Mt. Calvary. Friends may visit the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Pinconning on Friday, from 2 to 7 pm. On Saturday, John will lie in state at the church from 10 am until time of mass.
