John Maddox Obituary

Born August 4, 1948 in Perry, Georgia to the late Jack and Mary Maddox, he had lived in Fayetteville, GA and Naperville, IL before moving to Dawson County in 2010. Mr. Maddox was formerly employed as a Transportation Manager for U. S. Gypsum. He was a past President of the Riverdale Jaycees, had served on the State Board of the Georgia Jaycees, and was a Colonel in the Georgia Jaycee Rebel Corps # 1616, and was a member of the Chicago Traffic Club. John was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and also Georgia Tech and NASCAR. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Poole, and brothers, Marsden Maddox and Royce Maddox.
Surviving are his wife, Marcia Cabral Maddox, Dawsonville; sons and daughters in law, Chad and Amy Maddox, Statham, Ryan and Nikki Maddox, Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Anthony Maddox, Brayden Maddox, Grace Maddox, Olivia Maddox, Harper Maddox; sister and brother in law, Jackie and Don Davis, McDonough; several nieces and nephews.
The family is planning a private memorial at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dawson County Humane Society, 633 Martin Road, Dawsonville, GA 30534

I worked with John for many years at USG in Atlanta. Used to call him Thermometer Body as he was always thin in those days.Yesterday i was at the Dawsonville outlet and thought that should get in contact with him. Now it´s impossible.
