Cecilia Turner Obituary

OVIEO, FL – Mrs. Cecilia Miller Turner of Oviedo, Florida passed away peacefully in Altamonte Springs, Florida on October 5, 2025, after a yearlong battle with illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband James R. "Jimmy" Turner of 46 years in 2010. Cecilia was a graduate of North Augusta High School (South Carolina) in 1961, voted "cutest" in her class, and lived many years in Augusta, Georgia after her marriage to the love her life in 1963. She and Jimmy, along with their three children, relocated to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida in 1980. After returning to Evans, Georgia in 1987, she and Jimmy lived between Covington and Helen and was a member of Helen First Baptist Church. Mrs. Turner moved to Oviedo, Florida to be with family in 2015 and was a member of University Carillon Methodist Church, where she loved attending Bible studies and serving the community with fellow church members. Mrs. Turner also enjoyed painting, exploring the beauty of the North Georgia mountains and road trips. She delighted in traditions she loved - watching the Masters Tournament, Georgia Bulldog football games, and engaging with her family and friends. Above all, her life was centered on her faith and love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is survived by her brother Phillip Miller, North Augusta, South Carolina, daughter Debra Turner Jones and son-in-law Brad Melbourne, Florida, son James R. "Robbie" Turner, Jr. and daughter-in-law Stephanie Oviedo, Florida, and son Stephen Davis Turner, Nashville, Tennessee. She is also survived by her grandchildren Joshua Jones, Jessica Jones, Bryson Turner, Hayden Turner, Carson Turner, and great-grandchildren Tristan Jones and Serenity Ava Humphreys. She taught us how to live with grace, how to find joy in the everyday, and how to cherish time spent together. Graveside Services will be held Friday afternoon, October 24, 2025, at 2 o'clock in Westover Memorial Park.
