Clara V. (nee Tucker) Lux a long time resident of Berwyn, IL 92, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025 in Glen Ellyn with her daughters at her side. She had been surrounded by her loving family prior to her passing. She was preceded in death by her husband August F. Lux to whom she was married for over 72 years. Their marriage was guided by their strong Christian Catholic faith and they set the ultimate example of unwavering love and dedication to each other and to their family with kindness, and a strong work ethic. They generously supported their church and were passionate about their many charities. They had been so blessed themselves and were very generous throughout their lives to those in need.
Clara was born in Chaffee, Scott County, Missouri in a life filled with love to parents, Leonard Tucker and Lena Caroline (Hoefler) Tucker, both preceded her in death as well as her 14 siblings. Brothers, Lee, Arnold, Walter, Roy, Adolph, William Leonard, and George Tucker and sisters, Lucille Lee, Opal Horn, Mary Desemone, Rella Hahn, and Anna Marie LeGrand.
Clara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and cherished friend. She is survived by her children, Gail (Bob) Polanek, Debbie Lux Rutkowski and Robert Lux. She was preceded in death by her son Leonard, son-in-law Dave Rutkowski, husband of Debbie and daughter-in-law Maggie, wife of Robert. She was the proud grandmother of Michael (Aquilina) Pellegrino, Anthony (Roslyn) Pellegrino, Melissa (Claudio) DaRosa, Maria (Quan) Nguyen, Cassie (Chuck) Turack, Gregory (Jill) Lux, Heather (Mark) Gundzik. Great-grandmother of Nadia, Matteo, Giada, Nicholas, Anthony, Michael, Noah, Alana, Vincent, Gino, Adaline, August, Evelyn, Gillian (Gigi) and Grace. Step- grandmother to Liz and Max Hoeschele, Thomas (Amie) Rutkowski, Adam (Molly, Annie) Rutkowski and Jaime (Dan) Takagi. Step-great-grandmother to Hunter, Macee, McKenna, Maddie, Thea and Jordan.
Clara was devoted to her family and in her earlier years was actively involved in The Berwyn-Cicero Fraternal Order of Eagles, Emblem of the Cicero Berwyn Elks, REAC and was a member of Eagle Aeries, Mooseheart, and made many friends and memories along the way. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary of Celle church in Berwyn and was involved in many church activities. She and her husband traveled extensively for many years. She enjoyed bowling with her husband. She also liked sewing, crocheting and was an excellent cook. She was a parishioner at St. James the Apostle for the past two years.
Clara resided at Atria Park of Glen Ellyn for the last 2 years where she gave and received so much love and kindness. She shared many stories of her youth on the farm. She loved everyone there and was grateful to those who always helped her. She also enjoyed the many hugs that she gave and received and would always remind everyone to "Take One Day at a Time."
Family and friends will be received at the Williams-Kampp Funeral Home at 430 E. Roosevelt Road, Wheaton, IL for a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. then proceeding to St. James the Apostle Church at 480 S. Park Blvd., Glen Ellyn, Illinois 60137 for an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Mercy Home for Boys and Girls are appreciated. Clara and August supported these as well as many other charitable organizations.
