John Franklin Smarr, 47, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
He was born February 7, 1978 in Richmond, VA to Richard Allen Smarr, Sr. and the late Paula Sparks Smarr. John worked as a Auto Parts Delivery Driver for O'Reilly Auto Parts. He enjoyed playing video games, spending time with his pets and traveling.
John is survived by his wife, Samantha Lynn Smarr, brothers, Richard Allen Smarr Jr. (Larine), Timothy Eugene Smarr, and Christopher Andrew Smarr; sister, Tina Marie Green (James Robert); nieces, Emily Smarr, Emma Davidson, Evangeline Smarr, Kathryn Green, and Jasmine Green; nephews, Garrett McGlothlin, and Kenneth Green; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Virgil Clayton Ashby and Debbie McFarland Ashby; sister-in-law, Christina Ashby.
The memorial service will be held at Boulevard Chapel 2700 Pennsylvania Ave., Kannapolis, NC 28083 on Saturday, July 19, 2025at 12:00 noon with Rev. Shawn Beaver and Rev. Virgil Ashby, officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Foundation PO Box 628291, Orlando, FL 32862-8291.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Novant Health Rowan Medical Center and Novant Hospice.
