Funeral services for John Wesley Stinson will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, Louisiana with interment following in Old Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of service at 2:00PM.
John Wesley Stinson was born in Jackson, Mississippi on July 10, 1944 to the union of his parents, John Allen Stinson and Annie Mae Nelson Stinson and passed from this life July 27, 2025 at home surrounded by his loved ones. John was drafted and served in the Army and was very proud of it. He worked and always tried to take care of his family as needed. John rarely missed his nieces and nephews events, games, or whatever they had going on. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, and just sitting down drinking a cup of coffee and telling stories. His family cared for him and will miss him tremendously.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Jerry Allen Stinson, Eddy Stinson, James Stinson, Michael Stinson, Tommy Stinson; his sister, Laura Ann Davis; and his sis-in-law, Sue Stinson. Those left to cherish his memories are his sister, Georgette Wadkins (Carl); nephew, Bobby Jones; great nieces and nephews, Brent Jones, Andrew Jones, Cheyenne Jones, Destinee Jones; and their mother, Anna Jones.
Pallbearers will include, Bobby Jones, Brent Jones, Andrew Jones, Brian Boyd, Brendan Boyd, and Joey Boyd.
