John "Jack" F. VanHandel age 85, of Brillion, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at St. Paul Elder Care of Kaukauna, Wisconsin.

John was born on September 24, 1939 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, son of the late Theodore and Angeline (Cornelissen) VanHandel of Shirley, Wisconsin.

He married Betty Treml on July 14, 1962 at St. Mary's Church in Glenmore, Wisconsin. John worked at Saunders Leasing as a mechanic and later at Enco as a truck driver until his retirement.

John collected Allis Chalmers toy tractors for 37 years and enjoyed showing them off at the Steam Engine Show in Chilton and Luxemburg along with his brother Gordy and grandson Travis for over 20 years. He enjoyed traveling with Betty going to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Branson, Nashville, Wisconsin Dells, and a cruise to Alaska. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids.

John is survived by his wife, Betty of 63 years. Their children Cary (Larry) Binsfeld of Denmark, Kathleen (Jeff) Guyette of Appleton, and Mark (Cindy) VanHandel of Brillion. Their grandchildren: Tiffany (Tyler) Glaser, Travis Binsfeld, Stephanie and Jennifer Verbockel, and Mitchell VanHandel; step grandchildren: Derrik, Tristyn (Hayleigh), Jacob (Erin), and Chandler Guyette; great-grandchildren: Jayden Binsfeld, Hudson Brice; and step-great-grandchildren: Robert Glaser, Atticus Guyette, and Marlene Guyette. Also survived by sisters: Judy Worachek (Ken Wolff), Barb Case, and Diane VanHandel; brothers: Gordy (Elaine) VanHandel, Steve VanHandel (Nicole Engels); as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law: George & Viola Treml; brothers-in-law: Bob Worachek and John Case; granddaughter: Trisha Binsfeld; and a niece: Michelle Bangart.

Friend may call at the Pielhop Funeral Home in Brillion on Sunday, July 27, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Dale Eggert. Private Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Mary and Angie from St. Paul's Elder Care for the special care that was given to Dad. We also want to thank the Hospice staff for their compassion and help during this difficult time.

Sorry to hear of John's passing, as a fellow farm toy collector, he will be missed but remembered. I always enjoyed the conversations and stories of the past times especially with his toy display to what I called "John's Toy Collection of "The Persian Orange" (Allis-Chalmers). Our condolences go out to the family.
