John Dale White, 75, a resident St. George and Bell, FL, passed from this life at his home on Location Road on Friday, July 11, 2025. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.
John was born on Sunday, May 21, 1950, in St. George, a son of the late Dale Brown White and Betty Irene Dumire White. On October 30, 1971, in Oakland, MD, he was married to Diane Marie Gidley White who preceded him in death on April 12, 2012.
Left to cherish John's memory is his son, John White and wife, Heather, of Bell, FL, one brother, William "Bill" White and wife, Judy, of Middleport, OH, seven grandchildren, William Cody Sconyers, Misti Harshman, Hailie White, Casey Cromer, Nolan Cromer, Logan White, and Gabrielle White, and three great grandchildren, Caleb White, Connor White, and Noah Sconyers.
Preceding John in death besides his parents and wife, was a daughter, Shawn Cromer.
John was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1968 and had served with the US Army. He had worked for Carlon, a manufacturing company that specializes in conduit pipe after which he worked for the Florida Department of Corrections as a correctional officer.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing spades. He loved his family, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at St. George Community Church on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 1pm with Rev. Brad Barton officiating and members of the Tucker County Veterans Association will conduct a flag presentation. On Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 2pm, a graveside service with military honors will be conducted at Townsend Cemetery in Bell, FL.
