Maria Garcia Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Maria A. Garcia on June 26, 2025, in Morton, IL at the age of 64. After a long difficult year of battling end stage kidney disease and recurrent leg ulcers, she passed peacefully in her sleep. This was a moment we knew was coming, but it came too soon. Maria was full of love to give to everyone who needed it. She enjoyed traveling to and from Mexico, visiting her son and grandkids in Florida, going to her grandsons' football and baseball games, and most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Candelario Garcia; her two sons, Mario Garcia and Rico Garcia; her four grandkids, Abe, Cru, Aurora, Sebastian; her daughter-in-law, Denise; and her grand dog, Milo. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Her son Rico, is currently deployed with the US Navy, so we have decided to wait for him to come home to say our goodbyes to Maria. Future funeral arrangements to come as soon as her son steps back onto American soil.
Con profundo pesar, la familia de María A. Garcia anuncia su fallecimiento el 26 de Junio de 2025 en Morton, IL. a la edad de 64 años. Despues de una larga batalla contra la enfermedad renal terminal y úlceras recurrentes, María, falleció pacíficamente mientras dormía. Esté moment es algo que todos sabíamos que iba pasar, pero aún llegó muy rápido. María era bien amorosa y le encantaba viajar a México, viajar a Florida a ver a su hijo y a sus nietos, e ir a los juegos de béisbol y football de sus otros nietos y mas que nada, le gustaba pasar el tiempo con su familia. Le sobreviven su esposo, Candelario, sus hijos Mario y Rico, sus cuatro nietos Abe, Cru, Aurora, Sebastian, su nuera Denise, y su nieto perro Milo. Igual le sobreviven muchos sobrinos, sobrinas, primos, y primas. Todos la vamos extrañar intensamente. Su hijo Rico, asiste al ejército, el US Navy, y ahorita está en una misión que no lo dejan regresar en este momento. A visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025 at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. following the visitation at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
