Johnny Gene Chenoweth, 90, passed away on July 28, 2025. He was born on August 11, 1934, to Edgar Mike Chenoweth and Jessie Pearl (Holland) Chenoweth. Johnny married the love of his life, Reva Jenks, on August 3, 1956, at Gentry Baptist Church. Johnny was a hard worker. He worked as a truck driver for over 20 years, and after retirement, he went to work at XNA Airport. However, his true passion was working on his farm and caring for his cattle. Johnny also loved to garden (especially growing tomato plants), feed his birds, collect coins, research his family's ancestry, and watch the Razorbacks and Cardinals play. Above all, Johnny was a family man. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Johnny also loved listening to classical country music with Reva and attending concerts in Branson. Johnny was a faithful member of the Elm Springs Methodist Church all his life. And he made sure to stay involved in the church as much as possible. Johnny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Leon Chenoweth. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Reva Chenoweth; daughters, Brenda Harris and husband Tony of Springfield, MO, and Kathy Smith of Bentonville, AR; brother, Jack Chenoweth and wife Linda of Lincoln, AR; grandchildren, Hunter Smith and wife Kali, and Morgan Helmer and husband Danny; seven great-grandchildren, Hudson Smith, Hadley Smith, Holden Smith, Beau Henry Smith, Maddox Helmer, Mason Helmer, and Maier Helmer. A visitation will be held at Wasson Funeral Home on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Mark Cloninger, will be held at Wasson Funeral Home on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Elm Springs Cemetery.
