Johnny Lee Dial of Collinwood was born July 7th, 1949, in Wayne County, TN to the late Lambert Leeotis and Mary June Dial. He departed this life on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, at the age of 75 years. He was united in marriage to Margaret Ann Thrasher on October 25th, 1968. Margaret preceded him in death on June 14, 2015, following 47 happy years together.
Johnny was a Deacon and valued member of the First Baptist Church in Collinwood, TN, which he attended for 53 years. He led a Christian-driven life and was an example of what a Christian man should be. He mentored many people in their walk with Christ.
Johnny loved working on cars and transmissions and helping others in any way he could and spent his entire life doing so. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and making jelly. Anyone who knew Johnny knew love. His pride and joy was his family, and especially his granddaughters.
Johnny is survived by his son John Dial and wife Melissa of Collinwood, TN; two granddaughters, Emily Dial and Abigail Dial Weaver and husband Carson Weaver; two brothers, Ricky Dial and wife Lisa and Robert Dial and wife Debbie; two sisters, Carol Daniel and Brenda Reed and husband Cleo; and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann Dial; his brother, Jackie Dial; and two sisters, Janette Dial and Karen Brewer.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 4th, beginning at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, with Brother David Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens of Wayne County at Collinwood.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Presley Dial, Hayden Bratcher, Ryley Daniel, Blaze Daniel, Collin Reed, and Blaine Reed.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Collinwood or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
