Johnny David Lightner of Tullahoma, Tennessee passed from this life on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 71 years.
A native of Charleston, West Virginia, he is the son of the late John Richard and Minnie Florence Slate Lightner. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Diane Lightner.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Grace and Mercy Gospel Tabernacle in Estill Springs, Tennessee. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday at the church from 10:00 Am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home to help the family with the funeral expense.
Johnny was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved his family, and he loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a true servant of God. He attended The Shepard's House Pentecostal Church in Manchester, Tennessee.
His survivors include his wife of 31 years, Sherri Montgomery Lightner of Tullahoma, Tennessee, children, Richard Brian (Jamie) Lightner of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Stephen (Brittney) Cathey of Unionville, Tennessee, Philip Cathey of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Trena (Johnny) West of Hillsboro, Tennessee, Atoma (Harrel) Cude of Shelbyville, Tennessee, brother, Zack (Brenda) Lightner of West Virginia, 27 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
