Jonathan Smith Obituary

Jonathan "Jon" Smith, 35, of Antioch, California, passed away on May 16, 2025, in Antioch, California. Jon grew up in Antioch and was deeply in tune with the Delta. He loved to draw, make beats, and tell real, honest stories through his art. As "Lac Ja," he performed on stage, wrote and recorded music, and collaborated with a host of artists. He will be missed by those who loved and were inspired by him. Jon is survived by his mother Brenda, his son Jonny, stepfather Nicholas; father Jeff, and his older brothers Jeff II and Steven. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a countless number of friends whose lives were forever touched by his warmth and unwavering friendship. Viewing will be held at Higgins Chapel in Antioch on May 29, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A memorial service will start at 7:00 pm in the chapel.
