In Loving Memory of José Díaz González
1937 – 2025
With deep sorrow and immense gratitude, we remember the life of José Díaz González-a beloved husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather-who passed away on July 14, 2025, at the age of 88. He was a man of iron will and immense heart-a survivor, a builder, a protector, and above all, a giver.
José Díaz González came of age under the shadow of rising communism, a time that threatened freedom, family, and hope. As a young adult, he made the courageous decision to leave behind the only home he had ever known, determined to start anew in a foreign land. With no map but his will, and no safety net but his sacrifice, he rebuilt a life from nothing-for his family's future. He never looked back, never asked for recognition, and never stopped giving.
He was not a man easily impressed, nor did he seek to be. José believed in strength, self-reliance, and the quiet dignity of earning one's place in the world. But to those who truly knew him-his beloved wife, his three daughters, his cherished grandsons, and his sons-in-law-his high standards were rooted in love. He saw potential and pushed for it, not out of pride, but out of a deep belief in what they could become.
He faced adversity many times and defied death more than once. He survived what would have broken many others, always emerging more determined. His life was a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the enduring power of love, duty, and grit. Education, integrity, and personal responsibility were his cornerstones, and he passed them down with quiet insistence and unwavering example. His legacy lives in the lives he shaped, the values he instilled, and the strength he modeled.
José was preceded in death by his parents and his two siblings-a family of origin he carried with him always, even across borders, states, and years. He now joins them in peace, having fulfilled his mission here with courage and grace. José leaves behind his devoted wife, his daughters, his cherished grandchildren, and his sons-in-law-who, he would independently tell each, were his favorite. He also leaves a legacy of grit, wisdom, and unwavering love.
We carry his memory forward with sorrow in our hearts, pride in our blood, and profound gratitude for all he gave us. In honor of his memory, we ask that you live boldly, cherish your family, and never back down from a challenge. Rest in power-you earned your peace.
