Cabot, VT
Joseph N. Alexander, 76, passed away at his home on July 2, 2025. The son of Warren and Pearl Alexander, of Cabot, Vermont, born December 18, 1948. Joe was predeceased by his wife, Patrice (Warner) Alexander. He is survived by his daughter, Heather Alexander Johnson, and his stepson, David Issac. Joe is also survived by his 4 grandchildren, Emma, Drew, Rebecca, and Brandon.
Joe graduated from Cabot High School in 1966. In 1966, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army in the 1st Cavalry Division, serving 2 tours in Vietnam. Joe was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious achievement in ground operations against hostile forces.
Upon his return from military service, Joe worked various manufacturing jobs. His career included 16 years at Digital Equipment Corporation as a manager, until its closing.
Joe was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain on Lake Champlain, where he and Patrice spent many summers.
There will be no visitation hours or memorial service at his request. Joe will always be remembered for his sense of humor and incredible memory of his life's events. Please share a memory with others in honor of Joe.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice or the Cabot Ambulance Service in Joe's memory.
Arrangements are in the care of Guare and Sons Funeral Home, 30 School St., Montpelier, VT.
