Joe was born on October 11, 1945, to Carl and Mary (Perkins) Conrad.
Joe was a graduate of Midland High School. He married Janice (Wysong) on November 27, 1965. They were married nearly 43 years at the time of Jan's passing in 2008.
Joe was employed with The Dow Chemical Company for 27 years. In addition to his employment, Joe and Jan opened Forja's with their sons Jay and Jeff in 1984, which remained in the Bullock Creek Community until its closing in 2009.
Joe and Jan had two poodles, Lily and Louie, who they loved dearly. After Jan's passing, Lily and Louie were Joe's whole world and he was theirs.
Joe is survived by his sons, Jay (Melissa) Conrad and Jeff (Julie) Conrad; his granddaughters, Morgan and Jordan Conrad; his great-granddaughter Sawyer Smith and great-grandson Dylan Smith. Joe is also survived by his brother, Doug Conrad; his brother-in-law John Wetherell; along with many nieces, nephews & friends.
Joe is predeceased in death by his wife Jan; Lily & Louie; his parents, Carl and Mary Conrad; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Don and Elizabeth Wysong; brothers, Lee, Mark and Peter Conrad; and sisters, Dawn Wetherell and Susan Hollibuk.
Joe's family would like to pass along a thank you to Stratford Pines Nursing and Rehab and MyMichigan Medical Center for all of the care they provided to him since 2017 up until the time of his passing.
A funeral service for Joe will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St., Midland. The family will greet guests starting at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider donating to the American Diabetes Association or to the Humane Society of Midland County in his honor.
