Joseph Cook Obituary

Joseph Carl Cook, age 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Gulfport, MS with his wife, Sheila Boyd Cook, by his side on May 5, 2025. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, James Charlie Cook and Mary Lou Huskison Cook, and sister Mary Elizabeth Starz. Survived by wife, Sheila Ann Boyd-Cook, of Gulfport, MS; sons Christopher Cook of Memphis, TN, Joey and Mickey Cook, of Huntsville, AL, daughter Samantha Cook of Memphis, TN, daughter Kimberly Joy Bracey of Ashland City, TN, sons Joseph Glover of Ashland City, TN and Terry (Shelly) Glover of Pleasant View, TN, grandchildren Jalen Cook, Brandon Beard, Desmond Beard all of Memphis, TN, Noah Young of Martin, TN, Ruthie Young of Clarksville, TN, Ethan Glover, McKenna Glover and Greyson Glover of White House, TN, sister Billie McNutt of Tupelo, MS, brothers James "Mickey" (Joy) Cook of Prairieville, LA, Dan (Gail) Cook of Williams, AZ, and Steven Cook of Picayune, MS and his Teacup Yorkie, Paisley Grace.
Joseph Cook spent his entire life serving others while in the U.S. Navy on the USS Biddle, as a firefighter with the Memphis Fire Department, paramedic with the Shelby County EMS and Cheatham County EMS in Tennessee. He also served as the 9-1-1 Director of Cheatham County, Tennessee.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Boyd Funeral Home on May 31, 2025, with Visitation with the family from 10 AM till 2 PM, immediately followed by Service at 2 PM.
