Joseph J. Giunta passed away peacefully at Morristown Medical Center on May 27, 2025. He was 89.
Born in Brooklyn, he graduated from Bishop Loughlin High School in 1953 where he enjoyed track & field and bowling. He lived in Brooklyn for many years before moving to Long Island. He then moved to New Jersey in 1985 where he lived in Randolph, Long Valley, and Bedminster before moving to Basking Ridge in 2019.
He was a graduate of St. Francis College where he earned a degree in accounting. Joseph was a District Manager in the Auditing Department of AT&T before retiring in 1993.
Joseph was an active member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Brigid Church in Peapack. He also served as a trustee of the parish for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Louise, his two sons; Greg (Lynn) of Phoenix, AZ and Chris (Sandi) of Bayport, NY, and two daughters; Claudia (Bob) Cox of Sea Girt, NJ, and Andrea (Bob) Manzi of Peapack, NJ. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, his sister-in-law Adrienne McGovern, his nieces, and nephews, as well as many cherished friends with whom he shared wonderful memories throughout his life.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 4th from 4-7 pm at Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main Steet, Peapack. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday June 5th at 10:30 am at St. Brigid Church, 129 Main Street, Peapack. Interment immediately to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
