He was born on December 16, 1948, in Chester, PA to the late Robert Joseph and Helen Mary (Bortell) Hipkins.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in Vietnam, and was transferred to Korea following the Pueblo Incident as a specialist.
Paul was employed by Caldwell Manufacturing in Williamsport, MD until his retirement in 2015, after proudly working there for over 30 years.
He was of the Catholic Faith, after marrying his wonderful wife on 11/25/1972 where they would be celebrating their 53rd anniversary this year.
Paul was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan! Fly Eagles Fly! If he wasn't tinkering around the house or mowing the lawn, you could find him rocking in his recliner watching The Andy Griffith Show. One thing he was most proud and loved very much was his many grandkids and great grandkids who proudly called him their Pappy.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Mary (Horn) Hipkins , son Joseph Hipkins; daughter Stephanie Moore and her husband Roger; grandchildren Matt Cody (Katie), Jacob Cody, Ceaira Smith, Shianna Hipkins (Nate), Emily Reeder (Ralondas), Lyrac Hipkins, Ollionna Hipkins; great grandchildren Jaden, Apollianna, Aubrielle, Kane, Dawson, Mia, Kash, Kruze, Memphis, Layla, Norah, Amelia, Ma'lani, and Kingston.
He is also survived by his furry best friend Buddy.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
A memorial service will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Todd Lady officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Monday from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Military honors will be provided by Joint Veterans Council and Marine Corps League of Hagerstown, MD. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
