On August 23, 2025, Joseph Perlock, 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother entered Eternal Life at home after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Spencer, WI, on May 28, 1940 to Paul P. and Violet (Duvall) Perlock. He was a quiet man, devoted to his family, a builder of our home near Butternut and of our cottage near Lake Tomahawk. He enhanced our present home with many DIY projects and he maintained many vehicles in peak condition over the years.
He first attended St. John's Catholic Grade School and then Columbus High School in
Marshfield, WI, from 1946-1958. He completed his education as a Mechanical Engineer at Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1962 where he was a member of the TIE fraternity. He married Sandra Masanz on October 19, 1963 at St. Mary's Church in Auburndale, WI. They were joined in a double wedding ceremony with Sandra's sister, Diane and her fiancé, Don Brandl on the birthday of Arthur Masanz, the brides' father.
He started work at Milwaukee Cylinder Company in Cudahy, WI, in 1962, where he designed cylinders for businesses and for the government during the Vietnam War. In 1969, he was hired at the Park Falls Paper Mill and he and his wife became a family of five during their time there. In the Fall of 1979, Joe was hired by the Mosinee Paper Mill Engineering Department. In 1994 he established Perlock Homes and conducted home inspections within Central Wisconsin until 2002 when he retired.
He was a member of the JFK Knights of Columbus Council #5488 affiliated with St. Paul's Catholic Church. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing trips at our cottage with his brothers.
He is survived by his wife Sandra, daughter Catherine (Philip) Hackel and grandson Andrew. Also, his son Paul, and daughter Jean (Joseph) Barlow and their children Frank, Dutch, and Cassie. His six surviving siblings are Evelyn Cullen, Cumming, GA; Katherine (Jim) Radloff, Eau Claire; David Perlock, Stratford; Robert (Patricia) Perlock, La Crosse; Michael (Carol) Perlock, Wisconsin Rapids; and Eugene Perlock, Marshfield. His surviving in-laws are Lois and Harold Mayer, Marshfield; Diane and Don Brandl, Shawano; and Mary Jo and Jim Mews, Colgate.
Joe was preceded into eternity by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Mary and Bob Dovell, sister-in-law Leona (David), brother-in-law Dominic Cullen, and special family member Paula Lucas (Eugene).
