Josephine O'Brien Obituary

Josephine O'Brien, age 98, entered into eternal rest on January 24, 2025. She was born in Brooklyn in 1926. She was the beloved wife of 61 years to the late Francis J. O'Brien, loving mother of Maureen D'Onofrio (Luigi), Francis J. O'Brien (Teresa Gochal), and the late Gary P. O'Brien, cherished grandmother of the late Jeanine Spensieri, Lauren Blaney (Brian), Kevin O'Brien (Tracy), and great grandmother of Gianna and Aidan Blaney, and McKenna and Zavin O'Brien. Beloved daughter of the late Frank and Mary Gianino, Josephine was raised during the age of the great depression. Josephine was always strong and positive, resourceful, cheerful and appreciative of life.
She served as school secretary at Our Lady Help of Christians school in Brooklyn for many years and was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary Carle Place. Josephine was an avid reader, a loyal and trusted friend, a great listener, and valued by all who knew her. All of us leaned on her for common sense advice and guidance.Josephine was a woman of great faith and always gave the blessings and suffering of her life up to God.
