DELORES KNIGHT’S OBITUARY

Delores Knight, 84 years old, of Monrovia Md., passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 26, 1941 in Olney, Md. to Lester and Annie Perry. Delores was retired and enjoyed gardening. She loved her flower beds and made them exceptionally beautiful. She is survived by her husband Walter Knight. They were married for 49 years. Her daughters Sherrie Pollatos (Andy Pollatos) and Donna Knight. Her three stepchildren Walter Knight Jr. (Jill Knight), Virginia Poole (Robert Poole), and Steve Knight (Cathy Knight). Her grandchildren Robert Mann (Marcy Mann), Nathan Hubbard (Jennifer Hubbard), and Shelby Dodson. Her step grandchildren, Thersia Baumbaugh (Mike Baumbaugh), Alicia Thompson (Chris Thompson), & Moses Severt (Melodie Severt), 17 great grandchildren, and three sisters Jean Case, Debbie Smith, & Terri Shackelford.

Delores worked for Lorien Assisted Living for 22 years. She loved her job and she loved the residents, and they loved her. She retired in 2022 at the age of 81 years old. She didn’t want to retire but she knew it was time.

Delores and Walter attended Lighthouse Ministries. She was a mighty woman of God and she loved her church family and her Pastor, Sandra Hamby.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 2 PM at Lighthouse Ministries, 28912 Ridge Rd, Mt. Airy MD 21771. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a local hospice.
