Joyce G. Dean, 70 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 147 Jones Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120 The body will lie in state in the church from 11:00A.M. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, 790 Indian Mound Road SE, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.
Joyce Geanene Scott was born on September 5, 1954 to the late Frank Scott, Jr. and the late Pearline Edwards Scott. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess, Usher Board and other auxiliary of the church. She loved her Pastor and church family dearly.
She was educated in the Cartersville City School System attending Summer Hill and later attended Cartersville High School. Working was something that Joyce was not afraid of. She was employed at Nantucket Industries; and with the City of Cartersville Nutrition Department in the Cafeteria.
Joyce developed a love for butterflies after attending the "Atlanta Christian Cursiollo" which was part of her Christian growth. She enjoyed sewing, making skirts, and dresses. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her beloved grandchildren and her family.
Joyce was married to the late Harrison "Tee" Dean, and the two of them enjoyed life together until his passing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harrison "Tee" Dean; parents, Frank Scott, Jr. and Pearline Scott; daughter, Stephanie G. Winters; grandson, Travarus Winters; sisters, Frankie Scott, Joan Jones, and Sheila Scott.
Left to cherish her memories, sons, Davey Winters and Neon (Jessica) Winters; seven grandchildren, Shaquala Alexander, D'Naya Winters, Jantisha Gainor, Tray Winters, Shandez Moore and A'Lani Adams; great grandchildren, Journey Cotton, Taylin and Taylor Winters; sisters, Allene (Larry) Henderson, Jo-Anna Richard, Gail (Eddie) Carter and Jacqualine Darby; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
