Crawford, Judith Stenson, age 85, passed away on July 12, 2025. Judy was born in Minneapolis and graduated from Washburn High School. There she acquired a group of lifelong friends. She attended Rockford College and graduated from the University of Minnesota where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. After graduation, she and husband Peter lived in Wilmington, DE and then Silver Spring, MD before returning to Minnesota. They lived in the Lake Minnetonka area which they loved. When their kids entered school, Judy reentered the workforce. Building on her East Coast experience supporting people with developmental disabilities, she worked on a program in health care for that population and as a social worker for Mt. Olivet Rolling Acres.
Throughout her life Judy was a community volunteer and a member of Mt. Calvary and then Mt. Olivet Lutheran Churches. Her Stephen Ministry training was always in the forefront of her life. She loved nature, needlepoint, and chocolate.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband Peter, her parents Henry and Evelyn (Lybeck) Stenson, her brother Jim, sister-in-law Janice, and brother-in-law John. She is survived by son, Andrew Crawford; daughter, Sarah Crawford-Parker (Douglas); grandson, Colman Crawford; granddaughter, Isabella Crawford-Parker; step-grandchildren, Henry Raak and Rena Parker; brother Charles Stenson (Janet); sister-in-law, Linda Larson, multiple nieces and nephews, and many friends. A private service will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the care teams at Ridgeview Waconia Hospital and N.C. Little Hospice. If so desired, memorial contributions can be made to the Mount Calvary Foundation (Excelsior) or N.C. Little Hospice (Edina).
