Judy was born on July 21, 1942, to Francis L. and Lewis N. Hostrawser in San Diego. CA. As a military family they then moved to Albuquerque, NM, where her sister Karen was born. The younger brothers, Eric Lewis, Owen James, and David Michael arrived later. Judy started elementary school before the family relocated again to be closer to paternal grandparents, Jim and Phoebe Hostrawser in Lakeville, MN., The family remained in St. Paul until she graduated from Washington High School where she met and later married her husband Thomas L. Parent (deceased) father of son, James Michael Parent.
Judy attended college at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, she studied Office/Business Classes. After graduation Judy worked at Economics Laboratory, in Minneapolis, Minnesota for a few years before moving to the Advertising Department at the Theodore Hamm Brewing Company of St. Paul, Minnesota, working her way up to the Legal Department. During the brewery consolidation in the 1970's the Olympia Brewing Company representatives visited Hamm's and became acquainted with Judy's work and brought her to Olympia to work with their Legal Department personnel. Judy worked as the Secretary to the Executives until she retired from the Olympia Brewing Company. Judy later returned to work at the Office of the Attorney General for the state of Washington. Judy also worked for a brief time in the State of Washington Environmental offices.
Following retirement she joined the Chapter 2 of RPEC, the local entity of the Retired Public Employees Council, serving as Treasurer and Historian: the local division of the Retired Public Employees Council of WA, and the Senior Lobby where she served into her eighty's.
Judy's hobbies included watching live theater, and she enjoyed going out of town to the Shakespeare Festival in Oregon and the vintage cinemas in Tacoma. She attended many grade school performances for children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, loving each performance. Judy grew up ice skating on frozen lakes in Minnesota and continued to enjoy watching professional figure skating.
Judy is survived by her son James (Jim) Parent, (Debbie) of Olympia and two grandsons, Eric Parent of Titusville, Florida, Nicholas Parent, Olympia. Three great-grandchildren, Issac Parent, Olympia, and Jasper and Lucille Parent of Titusville, Florida.

Hello Jim and family, My name is Karen Holverson. I'm Judy's cousin. My deep condolences to you and your family. Judy and I were friends on FB and was so sad when I saw her obit. We didn't know each other well but had met her at our family gatherings a few times. I was so happy to read her obituary as I wasn't aware of the family history. I met her son Jim at my brother Dan's house is Portland once. Wish it could have been more times. My thoughts and prayers will be with you during her service.
Love and prayers,
from Norv and Karen Persons Holverson
Mark and Tracy Aksamit and family
Todd and Lisa and family and
my sister Joan Persons Langford
