Judith H. Wilson, 92, of Greenville, Illinois, passed away on July 14, 2025, in Highland Health Care Center.
She was born April 12, 1933, at home, in rural Coles County, near Kansas, Illinois, the daughter of Orville Lester and Mary Marguerite (Goble) Honnold. She was born Judith May Hannold, the fifth of six children.
After graduating from Kansas High School in 1951, she worked as a bank bookkeeper in Indiana, until she relocated to Greenville in the early 1970's. She continued working in banking until ending her career as a loan officer.
She was hard working, outgoing, outspoken, and spicy. She had a fantastic sense of humor, enjoyed playing cards, and socializing. Keeping in shape and being fit and trim was very important to her – for health and fashion, but her Achilles heel was the caramel drumstick! She could garden and grow flowers like no other. It was a true passion to raise flowers and see their beauty. It was probably her most favorite thing in the world.
Preceding her in death were her parents and siblings, Sam Honnold, Ben Honnold, Barbara Brosman, and Martha Drake.
Surviving Judith is her son, Michael (Adrianna) Masters of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Madelyn (Dmitry Rashkeev) Masters of Cary, North Carolina, Michelle Masters of Honolulu, Hawaii, Michael J. Rangel-Masters of Fort Worth, Texas; great granddaughters, Marci and Rhytm; sister, Mary Alice Hawkins of Charleston, Illinois; many nieces and nephews; care giver and friend, Ashley Summers of Greenville, Illinois.
The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.
The family asks that donations be given to Harmony Cemetery, in lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, in memory of Judith.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Harmony Cemetery, c/o 504 W. Charleston Road, Ashmore, IL 61912.
The family has entrusted Assalley Funeral Home in Greenville with the arrangements.
